Sales Manager
Long Description:
Directs three specialized office groups, i.e. sales, technical, and administration personnel, which serve the business market. Primary responsibilities include attainment of the forecasted revenue commitment through the generation of new sales revenues, protection of existing revenues, and the implementation of migration strategies. Responsible for budgeted revenue and expense objectives. Ensures sales results commensurate with corporate need. Manages key business/administrative measurements including accounts receivable, equipment/service delivery, overdue orders, and expense forecast.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Develops and implements strategies, market and revenue plans for organization
Ensure that TelCove market plans, migration plans, and new product strategies are incorporated into account, market and revenue plans
Provide input into these plans
Develop and implements specific programs and account strategies consistent with the economic trends and environmental factors to position strategic products, strengthen competitive position, ensure client satisfaction, and meet/exceed revenue objectives
Participates in revenue planning sessions to assist in identifying viable sales projects and potential network expansion
Implements overall account, market and revenue plan’s for TelCove to attain revenue commitment at optimum expense
Negotiate and implements account and revenue plans that include proposed level of revenue, expense and resource needs
Communicates overall strategies and responsibilities to the local TelCove team
Directs the management and deployment of technical support force to ensure appropriate skill mix, balance of workload and timing of work activities
Monitors technical training and skill development and makes recommendations for improvement
Negotiates building entry agreements with building managers/owners within TelCove guidelines and legal approval
Oversees and participates in programs that ensure the attainment of expense objectives, recommends programs to control and correct budget overruns
Supervises clerical staff and ensures that clerical functions and objectives are met
Resolves unique customer problems (service outages, billing problems, etc.) as required
Periodically conducts formal and informal subordinate performance and appraisals
Takes appropriate action (within levels of authority) or makes recommendations for appropriate actions to the General Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a minimum of seven (7) years sales experience in telecommunications, electronics or high-tech environments; of which 2 years must be in application selling with major accounts. (Extensive relevant sales experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelors degree).
PREFERRED:
Masters Degree in Business Administration
Three-five years business/financial background in major/national account sales
