REPORTING This position generally report to the Regional Sales Director in the Northeast Region.

LOCATION This position is based in a virtual office in the New York City metropolitan area.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to leverage their consultative selling skills in a broad addressable market to quickly and directly grow company revenues and enhance their personal compensation. The key challenge for this position will be to strengthen the company’s position in the marketplace by selling “high and wide” throughout their territory while fully capitalizing on the company’s reputation and product/market management support from headquarters.

RESPONSIBILITIES The Territory Manager is responsible for all activities within their territory relating to profitable sales growth by:

Optimizing business from both existing and new markets and customers
Achieving and exceeding sales, profit and market share objectives
Utilizing state of the art competitive intelligence and market data to identify trends and provide a knowledge base for taking the appropriate actions in the marketplace
Aggressively developing, executing and tracking effective territory plans consistent with profitably growing the overall base of business
Evaluating new sales opportunities and executing appropriate business activity, including due diligence, structuring of uniform programs and gaining appropriate executive approval
Keeping abreast of business developments in all areas and conveying this knowledge to customers in a professional and timely fashion
Facilitating the overall effectiveness of the sales effort in the territory by maintaining focus on individual sales performance complemented by appropriate corporate support
Following up with accounts and corporate on price quotations, customer service issues, quality problems, etc.
Maintaining clear and timely communication channels with corporate regarding customer product and service requirements and with customers regarding operational requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS The successful candidate should have seven to ten years of demonstrated proficiency in outside sales in a corporate setting with strong brand orientation and best-in-class sale processes and results. It is also essential that this person have had direct territory and quota responsibility and an excellent history of achievement in a very competitive commissioned sales environment.

Essential business experiences and skills required for this position include:

A solid track record of penetrating new and established markets using proven sales techniques at many touch points in customer organizations
Demonstrated hands-on PC literacy (full MS Office suite of software packages) and experience in an ERP environment
Exceptional intellectual capacity and analytical abilities, quick to grasp new concepts and a strong commitment to personal and professional growth
Being decisive, self-confident, self-motivated and willing to take risks
Essential personal and professional characteristics for the selected candidate include:

EDUCATION A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is highly desirable. A graduate degree, particularly an MBA, would be a real plus.

COMPENSATION The compensation for this position will be a competitive base salary with a strong upside bonus potential consistent with the transformation of the company and its compensation plans.
